TO BE ORE NOT TO BE?    1991 - 1992 - 1993

To be or not to be?

Bestaat de kunstenaar? Bestaat kunst?

Does the artist exist? Does art exist? Questions that Marcel Wesdorp posed and tried to answer. We are witnessing the materialization of his thoughts. The struggle that Marcel had during his study with the concept of "being" is reflected in a number of "concrete" objects. He tries to shape the non-perceptible, the non-tangible, in such a way that it "pronounces" itself. This has resulted in a fleece thin and transparent phenomenon that passes by our eyes. As a demonstration of a philosophical awareness they lead a derived existence. As a conscious choice they have a sovereignty, which causes the rational coherence of consciousness to blow like a stack of paper sheets in their own spiritual space. From that moment on, the "floating" polyester tubes are a monumental sign, telescopes that offer a view of ..... yes, on what actually? Just as with the glass book and the paper with the title "Where are you?", You see a moment that lies between "just past" and an "unfinished future tense".

LINES OF THOUGHTS    1995 - 1992
glued a piezo attached to a glass photo, yes again you hear someone speak through the glass and decided not to continue with this work
ERRORES Part 3 and finally let go the idea for a neon and think further about an installation with loosely hanging glass photo's in large format, in which I cannot find peace by hanging glass plates loosely in the space from the ceiling and want to break this feeling with the solution of ovals, glass ovals.
